Taiwan Scholarship Welcomes Foreign Students to Apply now
The Taiwan Scholarship Program has been revised and duly enacted recently. The Program, which was established by the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), is to encourage promising students from foreign countries to pursue their studies in Taiwan and to enhance educational and academic exchange.
This Program consists of three types of scholarships. Undergraduate Scholarships in the amount of NT$25,000 per month will be provided for foreign students who want to pursue undergraduate studies at universities/colleges in Taiwan; Masterˇ¦s Scholarships in the amount of NT$30,000 per month for pursuing master degree; and Ph.D. Scholarships in the amount of NT$30,000 per month for pursuing Ph.D. degree. Recipients may attend Language Enrichment Programs in university-affiliated Chinese Language Centers in Taiwan up to one year, in order to improve their language proficiency, before beginning their degree programs. A stipend of NT$25,000 per month per student will be provided.
Foreign students in the southern 8 states (including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Missouri and Kansas) of the USA who have good academic record and great motives to study in Taiwan are welcome to apply. It should be noted that overseas Chinese students and ROC nationals are not qualified to apply. Application period is from February 1st through March 20, 2005.
