Eleven American Students Received 2004 Taiwan Scholarship
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education have collaborated to reward 2004 Taiwan Scholarship to eleven American Students, who were selected through a competitive process by independent Scholarship committees of selected major universities in the southern area of the United States.
Among the eleven Scholarship recipients, Ms. Joanna Rodenberg, a newly graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, is going to pursue postgraduate studies at Center for Chinese Language and Culture Studies (CCLC) of NationalTaiwanNormalUniversity in Taipei.Five more Scholarship recipients are going to study at CCLC, too.The rest of recipients chose different university-affiliated Chinese language programs.Two of them are going to study at ChengchiUniversity in Taipei, one at NationalTaiwanUniversity in Taipei, one at Tunghai Univerisity in Taichung, and one at Cheng-KungUniversity in Tainan.
The Taiwan Scholarship Program is recently promoted in year 2004.The purpose of the Program is to provide foreign students with opportunities to pursue their studies in Taiwan and to increase their understanding of Taiwan's development, cultural heritage, and social customs. The Program includes Chinese Language Scholarships, Undergraduate Scholarships, Postgraduate Scholarships and so on.
