Ten Taiwanese Students Successfully Completed Internship at Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corp.

Ten Taiwanese students, led by Dr. Chung-Yan Lin of China Institute of Technology, Taipei, Taiwan, have recently completed a three-week (July 3 – 23) intern experience at Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation , San Antonio, Texas.This study group was composed by four students of National Cheng Kung University of Taiwan, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and six students of China Institute of Technology of Taiwan, Department of Aeromechanics.This is the first time Sino Swearingen sponsoring intern program for Taiwanese students.

Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation, originally started as a partnership between Swearingen Aircraft Corporation of San Antonio and Aerospace Investment Corporation of Taiwan in 1999, manufactures business jet aircrafts. The current aircraft under FAA certification is the new SJ30-2 twinjet, the world's fastest and longest range light business jet.

o extend appreciation of Taiwan government for this special intern opportunity, Director Yuri Chih of Cultural Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston visited Dr. Carl Chen, President and CEO of Sino Swearingen on July 16, 2004“This hand-on experience is of great value and importance to our students,” said Director Chih.He then held a seminar on how to enhance career development for students in aeronautics field for the ten visiting students.
